Big Noise Theatre is so excited to announce its "magical" 2019-20 season. The 18th season at Prairie Lakes Theater in Des Plaines, IL begins with XANADU in September, followed by PETER AND THE STARCATCHER in January, and INTO THE WOODS in April.
The vibrant and energetic, XANADU, opens Big Noise Theatre's next season on September 20, 2019. A Greek muse inspires love, laughter and the world’s first roller disco (yep!) in this glitter explosion based on the 1980 cult film. This Tony Award-nominated, hilarious, roller skating, musical adventure about following your dreams despite the limitations others set for you, rolls along to the original hit score composed by pop-rock legends, Jeff Lynne and John Farrar.
PETER AND THE STARCATCHER opens January 10, 2020. This Tony-winning play, based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, upends the century old story of how a miserable orphan comes to be The Boy Who Would Not Grow up, better known as Peter Pan.
INTO THE WOODS rounds out the 2019-20 season on April 24. Your favorite fairytales hit the stage for an epic mashup about wishes, family and the choices we make. James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, musical...and a rare modern classic. The Tony Award-winning book and score are both enchanting and touching.
